If we don’t get money out of politics, and soon, we’re all toast: the US will be just another 3rd-world country, with a small elite running & owning everything, a huge mass of poor people— and no middle class.

Wow this guy got it right almost ten years ago down to the “too big to fail” doctrine. Sure wish the Congress back then would have listened to him.
I hope this guy is still in Congress but I would bet he is not, to truthful to be relected.
I am from India this is a real senator with ethics and restore fate in democracy and so this was the era of Clinton so called Right way which move to republican Deregulation culture

I wish we had more voices of reason like Byron Dorgan in the US Senate.
More people should be watching this type of stuff rather than the singer or cat du jour. I just found out about Dorgan 2 days ago. Very prophetic in what he was saying. Such a shame we don’t have more intelligence in the Senate or Congress. Intelligence and integrity existing in either is an oxymoron.
What a foresight this man had. I never knew about this man until now. This guy certainly has all the right to say, “I told you so!” and directly towards Rush Limbaugh.
Besides put the regulation on the banking industry, the most important move the government needs to make is to regulate the lobbying industry.
Banking, health care provider, oil, pharmaceutical, telecom, and food industry, just to name a few.
Too big too fail = no fault capitalism

Holy cow! How many times did we hear this this past September? The banks are “too big to fail”.
Byron Dorgan just gained a wealth of my respect here by predicting the financial future of this country due to the Gramm-leach-bliley act in 1999.
it is amazing how tmuch power the banks and the federal reserve have over our government. They are the shadow government who really “control” power and policy.

November of 1999. Dorgan failed to pass
amendments and was voted down by majorities in both parties.
