www.thehartfordteapartypatriots.com A huge snowstorm buried parts of eastern New York State in feet of snow the day before, but on Saturday, February 27, 2010, the lawns of the State Capitol in Hartford, Connecticut were just wet and soggy. This day was the one year anniversary of perhaps one of the greatest grass roots movements in American History. The modern tea party began eight days after Rick Santelli, a CNBC reporter, who detailed the Chicago Board of Trade for his cable station, went on a rant berating the government’s colossal stimulus program in early 2009. What followed was an explosion of people power, an awakening of the dormant middle class. In the year since the first tea parties of February 27, 2009, nothing less than a political tsunami has swept across the land. 2010 might go down in history as the beginning of the Second American Revolution. Three hundred patriots rallied in Hartford this day. Come join the party. It’s free.
